David Turner has held a range of teaching and leadership positions at primary and secondary levels in Queensland’s state system. In 2005 he took leave to take a position at CQU as Head of their Noosa site and teach in the university’s Learning Management programs. He was appointed Head of School, Leaning and Innovation the following year. David returned to Education Queensland in 2009 as the principal of Mooloolaba State School.
