National Forum - ‘Intergenerational Compact for our Young People'
The Australian National Schools Network (ANSN) in conjunction with the University of Western Sydney (UWS) and the New South Wales Department of Education & Training are presenting a National Forum to discuss producing an ‘Intergenerational Compact for our Young People’.
Curriculum Design – a three-day Research Circle in Melbourne
Starting in September, ANSN and Hawker Brownlow Education will present a three-day Curriculum Design Research Circle, in Melbourne. It will take place on 1 and 2 September and 10 November, led by Gavin Grift, National Co-ordinator of the ANSN Curriculum Design Hub, and Director of the Association of Innovation in Education.

Communicate, Collaborate and Create
The Australian National Schools Network would like to invite all interested teachers (P-12) to attend our 2 day workshop titled Communicate, Collaborate and Create which allows participants to actively investigate and explore the potential of on-line tools and their capacity to radically change education in the future.Throughout the hands-on workshop participants will explore and create their own on-line tools including (but not limited to) blogs, wikis and podcasts, within an educational context. This workshop will challenge teachers thinking about what could happen to education if these tools become mainstream as an integral tool for learning.
Interactive Whiteboard Hub 2009 - Information sessions
For the last 2 years the Australian National Schools Network has been facilitating a new professional learning program for teachers focusing on the use of interactive whiteboards in the classroom. Over 200 teachers have taken part in the program since 2006 and participants gain a wealth of technical knowledge as well as taking part in the pedagogical discussions around the question “How do interactive whiteboards improve teacher pedagogy and student learning outcomes?”During August and September we would like to give you and your school the opportunity to attend an information session to learn more about the Interactive Whiteboard program being offered again in 2009.

Cognitive Coaching – A series of professional learning days
In Victoria, towards the end of July, ANSN and the Center for Cognitive Coaching℠. will be presenting "Learning to Coach, Coaching to Learn – A series of Professional Learning Days". Each of the days in the series has been designed either to introduce or extend participants’ knowledge on the principles of Cognitive Coaching℠, which was developed in the US by Art Costa and Robert Garmston.

Click on the flyer for more detailsThis three-day workshop is specifically designed for teachers and principals in schools that are striving towards developing a thinking oriented school culture based on the Habits of Mind.
Participants are assumed to have a good understanding of the Habits of Mind and to have been working towards infusing the Habits of Mind in their settings for at least one year. Most schools participating in the workshop will be, or have been, members of the Habits of Mind Hub although any school that can demonstrate significant work and commitment towards infusing the Habits of Mind into school culture will be welcomed.
