In 2009 Stephen Seddon was Science Coordinator at Noble Park Secondary College, in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. In 2010 he is Head of Junior School (Years 7-9) at the College. At the end of 2009 he was interviewed by Keith Redman, Editor of ANSN E-News. This Snapshot is based upon that interview and subsequent conversations.

Overview

The You Yangs Learning Community Cluster (YYLC) has worked with Centre for Education and Research in Environmental Strategies (CERES) and other environmental sustainability education agencies to enable schools to work effectively with community partners.

A suggested way to maximise the value of reading resources, for example the KidSmart Snapshots, could be to use them with the Final Word Protocol, within a staff or team meeting.

After two intensive days of researching about what effective curriculum planning is, participants were asked to design a unit of work that would reflect what they had learnt. The following statements have been taken from the reflective journals individuals completed that will form part of the learning portfolio being put together to showcase hub learning.
